Have A Happy ♥!

Have A Happy ♥!
Make this card to enter some challenges.

Sketch N Stash Challenge 107
I adopt the sketch from Sketch N Stash Challenge 107 as shown above. As the challenge name requirement, I need to use either my newest or neglected stash. I choose to use my neglected stash which is a stamp set I bought sometimes ago but yet to get it inked. Furthermore, I am entering into few challenges that require ♥ in the card which this stamp set is just perfect for it.

Pinspired Challenge #3
As for the color scheme of the card, it comes from Pinspired Challenge #3 photo as shown above.

Close-up : Stamped image
The image is stamped onto a white circle and colored using Copic markers. The 'o' from the 'xoxo' are purposely colored to give some dimension to the image. It is then layered onto a pattern paper.

Close-up : Sentiment
The sentiment is stamped on a red card stock and trimmed accordingly. Both of the image and sentiment are layered onto ♥ embossed white card stock as shown in the sketch.

Close-up : Red scallop ribbon and pearl ♥ ribbon sliders
A red scallop ribbon is attached to the left of the white card stock. Three (3) pearl ♥ ribbon sliders are used.

Close-up : Embellishments
Finally, the whole ♥ embossed white card stock is attached onto a pink card base. Two (2) pearl ♥ are attached to the left and right bottom side of the sentiment. The stamped image is further embellished with small pink gems. Some faux stitching are added to the pattern paper lining as I find it a bit dull. With the faux stitching added, the whole card seem to come together! What a great use of faux stitching!

Winner of Paper Made Bakery How's The Weather? Release Day and Blog Hop

Paper Made Bakery (PMB) always have some goodies for their monthly Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop. As there are goodies offered, everyone is getting their chances to win including myself! :P

Well, after months of joining the Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop, finally, I got my chance to the goodies! I was picked on PMB How's The Weather? Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop. PMB used to offer one of Fresh Baked Kit as prize but they changed the prize a bit few months ago. Now, they are offering some goodies prize instead of the whole monthly Fresh Baked Kit. Well, I am fine with that since it is free!

It was a surprise for me as I get to won as I never give high hope in being picked. But when I went over to Paper Made Bakery blog to check whose the winner, I am so surprised that I saw my name (my real name cause I login to Rafflecopter using my Facebook). I write to Shannon Fralish right away as it is indicated that I have seven (7) days from the announcement to contact PMB. If not, the prize goes back into the prize picnic basket for a future contest/giveaway! I was like three (3) days late but not too late. :P Shannon replied my e-mail on the same day and informs that she will ship out my prize pack shortly.

Well, after about a week plus, here is the prize pack on my hand! For How's The Weather? Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop, the goodies prize offered is Hearts-n-Goodies Prize Pak. Judging by the pack name, I am guessing this pack is full of goodies on Valentines' related stuffs since it is Fresh Baked Kit release in February. Well, it is actually as shown below.
Top - left to right :
Bazzill Basics Paper Love Story Collection Stickers - Love Story Tickets

Bazzill Basics Paper Love Story Collection 6x6 Pattern Papers
Bottom :

(please refer photo below for more details)
Bunch of varieties sizes of tags and twine
(please refer photo below for more details)
SRM
We've Got Your Border - Valentine
Some ribbons (as shown in the photo)

It is full of goodies and I get to have bunches of tags to play with as well!
Varieties sizes of tags and twines

Some red, pink and blue embellishments as shown the photo as well!

What a great prize pack and lots of thing to play with! I hope I get to use some of them soon! Thanks to Paper Made Bakery and Shannon Fralish for the prize.

Lantern Mini Cards

I am so happy that Emily Leiphart hosts this Chinese New Year Blog Hop together with some of the stamp brands! It is very rare that the biggest craft community in the Western know about the Chinese New Year! I am so touched when I know about this Chinese New Year Blog Hop

I decided to play along with this Chinese New Year Blog Hop mainly because I am celebrating Chinese New Year! Secondly, I get to win some prizes (if I am lucky and hopefully the Year of Snake is kind to me)!

Most of the sponsors offer free digital images that you can use to enter the blog hop challenge. When I saw cherry blossoms and lanterns digital image from Fresh Squeezed Stamps, I just could not think that this image is good for Mid-Autumn Festival (also know as Mooncake Festival) as well! Thus, I decided to make two (2) 3x3 mini cards from this image with one themed Chinese New Year and another one themed Mid-Autumn Festival.

Chinese New Year Theme (CNY#001)
Here is the mini card themed Chinese New Year. The lanterns are colored in red as usually the lanterns for Chinese New Year are red. Some gold lining is added to the lanterns to give some shimmering look as well to imitate the light from within the lanterns. Gold is mostly used during Chinese New Year to symbolize fortune. Usually during Chinese New Year, the cherry or plum blossoms are used to symbolize luckiness. Thus, I add some look alike cherry or plum blossoms to the branches.
Close-up : The look alike cherry or plum blossoms

Mid-Autumn Festival Theme (MAF#001)
Here is the second mini card themed Mid-Autumn Festival. The lanterns are colored in different colors as the lanterns during Mid-Autumn Festival are colorful. Some yellow shading is added to the surrounding side of the lanterns to imitate the light from within the lanterns. As Mid-Autumn Festival is usually after harvest season, some of yellow gems are added to the branches since there would not be any flowers blooming. I made a similar Mid-Autumn Festival mini card back in 2010 using stamping. Well with this digital image from Fresh Squeezed Stamps, this year Mid-Autumn Festival cards are a lot more easier to mass produce!
Close-up : Yellow gems on the branches

I am just so happy and excited that I able to play along with Emily Leiphart's Chinese New Year Blog Hop! Hope that Emily will continue to host this Chinese New Year Blog Hop next year and years to come!

May the Year of Snake brings luck, prosperity and happiness!

Happy Snake Year! #2

Happy Snake Year! #2
Finally, I able to squeeze in some times to make my second Chinese New Year card for 2013! I think the next card would be mass production since I really have very little time now. Chinese New Year is just a week away! Aaaaarrggghhhh.....

AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Challenge - Sketch AC155
Back to the card. For this card, I adopt the sketch from AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Challenge - Sketch AC155 sketch/challenge as shown above. It is a simple sketch since I have limited time.

Close-up : The gold snake
The snake is stamped on a white card stock and colored using Copic markers. It is layered onto a gold corrugated card stock.

Close-up : The sentiment in red scallop circle
The sentiment is stamped on a red scallop circle and attached between the white card stock and gold corrugated card stock as in the sketch.

Close-up : The white brads
Three (3) white brads (which has been on my stash for quite some times) are used on the right bottom corner of the gold corrugated card stock as shown in the sketch. Later, the whole gold corrugated card stock is adhered onto a red card base.

Happy Snake Year! #2 - Inside
On the inside of the card, as the red is too dark for writing, a pink inlay is used. Then, funny sentiment is stamped in the middle of the inlay.
Close-up : Sentiment inside the card

Dimension : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"
Type : Horizontal fold
Inlay : Yes with stamped sentiment
