Mini Ketupat Salam Aidilfitri

Mini Ketupat Salam Aidilfitri
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is around the corner. Thus, I wanted to make something for my Malay colleagues this year which is my first year of making Hari Raya Aidilfitri cards! I decided to make a set of mini cards as I am appending some brooches or kerongsang for them in a transparent organza gift bag.

Fetch A Sketch - Challenge 55
For the first set, I adopt the simple sketch from Fetch A Sketch - Challenge 55 as shown above.

Close-up : Stamped background in gold ink
The background is stamped on a light green card stock in gold ink and trimmed accordingly. It is attached onto a yellow card base.

Close-up : Mini Ketupat
The most issue that making me headache is what image is suitable for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I googled on the Internet and found that ketupat is one of the most popular image used in handmade cards! Thus, I quickly make some mini ketupat using light green and green strips. I must admit that Chari Moss' patchwork paper technique is very useful in making the ketupat!

Close-up : Sentiment
The sentiment, Salam Aidilfitri (meaning Eid Greetings) is customized using alphabets. It is then stamped onto a yellow strip. The yellow strip is then attached onto the card base as in the sketch. Two (2) mini ketupat are attached on the yellow strip as in the sketch. The ketupat at the bottom is attached to the strip directly while the second ketupat is pop up using pop dots so that it has some dimension.

Dimension : 7.62cm x 7.62cm or 3" x 3"
Type : Vertical fold
Inlay : None

This is not a holiday I'm familiar with - isn't that one of the great things about blogging - you learn all sorts of things and meet lots of new friends! I love the airiness of your design - the background is really pretty! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CASology this week!
